Same-Day Appointments, Emergency, and Urgent Care

Since 1979 Hylan Dental Care has accommodated dental emergencies with same-day appointments.

Most days we are able to accommodate everyone.

IMPORTANT: When calling please call to let us know that you would like to be seen that day! Occasionally for same-day appointments, if we are not able to see you at our Brecksville location, we may ask that you go to one of our other locations. Appointments are only seen during normal business hours.

Dental Care By A Team of Oral Health Experts

Dr. Brad Hylan, DMD
Dr. Bradley Hylan

I started in practice in October of 1979. It was my mission and vision for Hylan Dental Care to treat entire families including kids. If your child chipped a tooth, I wanted to be there. I wanted an office with a team of Primary Care Doctors working together to create healthy beautiful smiles. I believed that instead of one Doctor working by himself, having a team of doctors would help to improve treatment, better accommodate your family, better accommodate a busy work schedule, and help new patients. If you needed a same-day appointment, we could help you. For complicated or difficult treatment, we (Doctors) could consult together and get different viewpoints about the best treatment. We could expand our hours and be open on weekends and evenings. If you needed emergency treatment, having a team of doctors would make it easier for you to schedule an appointment.

Education has always been important to me. Since I graduated in 1979, dentistry has come so far. A healthy, beautiful smile can be a reality for almost everyone.

Over the years we have developed a highly skilled team of primary care providers. Having more than one dentist in the office helps to bring more than one viewpoint to the table.

Having more than one viewpoint helps to create a better dental experience and a better end result.

Schedule An Appointment

You can call mornings, evenings, or weekends seven days a week.

We have call forwarding at night to our cell phones so you can always get in touch.

Please note: We see same-day appointments during normal business hours.

What is the difference between a Same Day Appointment and a Walk-In Appointment

A same-day appointment is pre booked in our schedule. A walk-in appointment is not pre booked. We always try to accommodate everyone. A walk-in appointment may not be seen on the same day.

We Cater To Cowards

We have been using the phrase “We Cater Cowards” for over 40 years.

What that means is we always strive to be very aware that some patients have dental anxiety. We understand that it can feel very embarrassing if you don't love your smile. We do everything possible to create a stress-free environment.

If the goal is an outstanding smile and relaxed dental visits, it's kind of hard to have any treatment or schedule multiple visits when you're terrified of seeing the dentist.

If you need extensive treatment, we try to schedule a few longer appointments, so you don't have to keep coming back.

When you schedule a visit, you will not be criticized about your teeth, your dental health, or your dental fears. If you are really anxious about treatment, we can schedule a consultation appointment without having to do any work.

Depending upon your level of dental anxiety oral sedation and nitrous oxide are available to help you to relax.

Oral sedation involves taking a pill before your appointment to help you to relax.

Nitrous oxide is a gas that you breathe that relaxes you.

All the doctors and staff at Hylan Dental Care are trained by Dr. Hylan in the Hylan Painless Protocol for local anesthesia.

The Protocol involves a unique combination of numbing cream and anesthetic. It’s used in hospitals but for some reason rarely used in dental offices.

The results when numbing are gentle, profound, and amazing.

If you have a cracked or broken tooth, it will not heal itself.

I often hear people say the five dangerous words … “Maybe It Will Go Away!”

“Small dental problems” can very easily turn into “big dental problems.” For example. When people have gum problems it usually starts as gingivitis.

Gingivitis is usually a minor swelling of your gums. Your gums may bleed slightly. In many cases, early direct detection of a gum problem is simple to correct. It may involve nothing more than a little bit of flossing and a little better brushing. Simple to correct.

Long-term dental neglect can lead to more complicated medical problems.

If you have any dental health issues it is important that you are taking care of yourself. If it has been several years since your last scheduled dental visit, you should probably consider scheduling an appointment.
