Fear of the dentist is a problem that affects millions of people.

Every day we see nervous or anxious patients. It’s what we do. Just about everybody qualifies for sedation dentistry.!

What is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation Dentistry is defined as "Pain Free Dentistry" done in a calm relaxing Environment.!

Some of the reasons people have sedation dentistry:

- Have you had a bad experience in the past?
- Are you nervous at the thought of seeing the dentist?
- Do you need a lot of work done?
- Are you hard to get numb?
- Do you have extremely sensitive teeth?
- Do you hate the sounds of a dental office?
- Do you want to have multiple procedures done in a longer appointment?
- Do you tend to gag when having dental work?!

Oral Sedation & Nitrous Oxide Sedation

At our office we use both oral sedation and nitrous oxide sedation!

What is Oral Sedation?

Oral Sedation in Cleveland

With oral sedation we give you a pill that will help you to relax.

We often prescribe two pills. You take one pill the night before your appointment so that you can get a good night's sleep. You take a second pill about an hour before your appointment.

*YOU MUST HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE YOU AND ACCOMPANY YOU TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. THEY ALSO MUST DRIVE YOU HOME.*

You will probably be drowsy the rest of the day.

What is Nitrous Oxide sedation?

Nitrous Oxide Dentist in Cleveland

Nitrous Oxide is a colorless gas that produces a feeling of relaxation when inhaled. Nitrous oxide is a combination of nitrogen and oxygen. Nitrogen is in the air we breathe.

When we use nitrous oxide sedation, we give you a tiny little mask or nosepiece that you put over your nose during your procedure. You breathe normally through your nose. Stress and tension leaves your body and you relax.

Nitrous Oxide in Cleveland

Why some people choose to have Nitrous Oxide Sedation.

One of the nice things about nitrous oxide sedation is that it wears off immediately at the end of your appointment.

When your procedure is completed, you breathe oxygen for a couple of minutes and all the nitrous oxide comes out of your system. You can drive home, go back to work or back to whatever you want to do.
